About Granted
What is Granted?
Granted is grant administration software for organizations that award grants. It runs funding rounds, a public application portal, board review and voting, recorded decisions, award payments, grantee reports and close-out in one place, set up and supported by Mijane Technologies.
Who is Granted for?
Organizations that award grants through an application process: public authorities and agencies, community foundations, and boards and committees that decide on funding. If your organization applies for grants, Pursuit is the product for you.
Is Granted a good fit for a small county grant authority?
Yes. Granted runs grant administration for a Pennsylvania county grant authority: applicant intake, board review and voting, decision records, board reporting and managed operations, with 388 historical awards consolidated into one record.
Is Granted available now?
Yes. Granted is live and in use today. Pursuit, our product for organizations that apply for grants, is launching soon.
How does Granted work with Pursuit?
Granted is for organizations that award grants; Pursuit is for organizations that apply for them. Rounds you run on Granted can appear among the matches of nonprofits using Pursuit, and an award becomes a shared record: you see requirement status and the evidence a grantee submits, never their drafts.
Applications and applicants
Do applicants need an account to apply?
No. Applicants start from your public grants page. An account is created when they submit, with an email to set a password, and from then on they follow their application from their own portal.
Can we use our own application form?
Yes. Our team builds the form around your program’s questions, often starting from the paper or PDF form you use today, and changes it when your programs change. There’s no form builder for your staff to learn; you tell us what you need.
Can applicants save a draft and finish later?
Yes. Applicants get an emailed link back to their draft, and returning applicants start with their organization’s details already filled in.
Can we invite organizations to apply?
Yes. Choose organizations from your directory, write a message and send an invitation with the round’s details and an apply button; organizations that already applied are skipped. You can also send one organization a private, single-use application link with its own deadline.
Will Granted carry our branding?
Yes. The applicant portal and every email carry your organization’s name and logo.
Review, voting and decisions
How do board members review applications?
From one review desk, with their queue on one side and the full application and their assessment on the other. Each member gives a 1 to 5 score, votes fund or deny with an amount and writes an assessment, and can change the vote later.
Can board members see each other’s votes?
Only after they’ve cast their own. Until then, other members’ reviews and tallies are hidden, and that rule is enforced by the database rather than just hidden on screen.
Does Granted approve applications automatically?
Never. When a majority of the voting board agrees, the application is marked as recommended. A staff member confirms the decision and the amount, and only then is the applicant told.
Can Granted create board packets?
Yes. Granted turns each application into a single PDF board packet with a cover page, the typeset application and every attachment merged in, ready for the meeting.
Does Granted remind board members to vote?
Yes. A weekly email goes to anyone with applications still waiting on their vote.
Awards, payments and reports
How are award payments tracked?
Each award has its own payment ledger, paid by check, ACH or another method in one or more payments. Governing-body approval is recorded first, with the date and resolution number, for several awards at once if you like.
Can Granted stop a payment above the award amount?
Yes. Granted refuses a payment recorded before approval or above the award, and a mistaken payment is voided with a reason rather than deleted.
How do grantee reports work?
Each round has its own schedule of one to six interim or final reports, each due a set number of months after the first payment. Grantees file signed reports with up to 20 attachments, and staff accept them, ask for changes or waive them.
Does Granted track unspent funds and close-out?
Yes. Unspent funds from the final report are tracked until they’re returned or waived, and an award only closes once its reports are settled; reopening one needs a reason.
Records, data and security
Can we bring in our past grants?
Yes. We import your historical awards from spreadsheets. They appear as past programs in the workspace and in each organization’s funding history, so you can see who you’ve funded before and invite them to apply again.
Is there an audit trail?
Yes. Status changes, votes, signatures, payments and reports are written to an activity log by the database itself, so the record can’t be edited after the fact. Records aren’t deleted; mistakes are voided with a reason.
Can Granted help with board reporting and Right-to-Know requests?
Yes. Database audit trails, role-based access and CSV exports support board reporting and Right-to-Know requests.
How is access to applications controlled?
By rules enforced in the database. Applicants see only their own records, visitors who aren’t signed in can’t read any application data, and each staff or board member can do only what their role allows.
How are uploaded documents stored?
In private storage. Files are checked for type and size when they arrive, and each view uses a fresh link that expires shortly after.
Are electronic signatures recorded?
Yes. Every signature records the signer, organization, time, IP address, browser, the exact consent wording and a fingerprint of what was signed.
Can we export our data?
Yes. Applications and organizations export to CSV with your filters, and any application can be downloaded as a PDF packet.
Pricing, procurement and setup
How much does Granted cost?
Granted starts at $18,000 per year, with setup, data migration, training and support included. Your quote depends on how many programs you run and the size of your team, with no hidden fees.
How long does Granted take to set up?
It depends on how many programs and past awards you bring over. Our team does the configuration, imports your history and trains your staff and board as part of the subscription, so you’re never setting it up alone.
Can you respond to our RFP?
Yes. We bid on grant management and grant administration RFPs directly, or join a team as the technology and grant-systems partner for software, automation, migration, training and operational support.
Do you work with grant programs outside Pennsylvania?
Yes. We work with grant programs nationwide, and setup, data migration, training and support are all delivered remotely.
What support do we get after launch?
A dedicated team that knows your programs. In the app, a support chat reaches our team first; if no one replies within a minute, an assistant answers from your own records, read-only and limited to what you’re allowed to see.
